Q. How do I change my profile information?

A.  On any page, click the "My Space" link. Then click on the "Profile" link.

Q. How do I know what forums I am authorized to view?

A.  On any page, click the "My Space" link . Then click on the "Group Memberships" link.  This table lists the groups you belong to. These groups often affect what security rights you have.

Q. How can I view a list of all of my posts that have recent replies?

A.  Click on the "Find" tool, then click on the "Advanced Search" link.  Click on "Topics You Posted to with New Posts".

Q. Can I ignore a user that is posting objectionable content?

A.  You cannot ignore a user. If you find a post that you find objectionable, you can click the "Report this post" button found at the lower right corner of every post.

Q. How can I view someone's profile?

A.  To view a users profile, you must first locate one of their posts.  You can do this using the "Find" tool that is located in the AnswerPool Toobar. Type in search terms or click the "Advanced Search" and type in the authors name in the "Authors" entry. Or you can simply navigate to one of that user's posts through the main message board.  You can view a profile by clicking on the Author's name.  This will display any voluntary information of the author has submitted.

Q. Can I save a message thread?

A.  You can save an entire message thread (question and all answers) by clicking on the File menu, then the "Save As" command.  It may be more effective if you first click on the "Tools" menu, then the "Printer Friendly Format" link. Then click the File / Save As. You could also click the "Tools" menu, then the "Email a Friend link. This will allow you to send the entire thread to yours or someone else's e-mail address.

Q. How can I receive notification when my question is answered?

A.  When you submit a new question or poll, click the "Notify" Tool, then the "Notificatioon" link and select your delivery notification preference.  You can choose to send all replies to your "My Space" page, Daily, Weekly or Immediate Notification by Email. 

To view your "My Space" page, click on the "My Space" link in the AnswerPool Toolbar.

Q. How can I receive notification when someone else answers a question that I have answered?

A.  When you answer a question, click the "Notify" Tool, then the "Notificatioon" link and select your delivery notification preference.  You can choose to send all replies to your "My Space" page, Daily, Weekly or Immediate Notification by Email.

Q. How do I reply to a specific post in a message thread?

A.  To reply to a specific post within a message thread, click on the quotes icon . This icon is on the botton right corner of the message. This will post a reply with the message that you are responding to quoted in your reply.  It's also a good practice to start my mention the name of the person that you are responding to. You can "edit" the quote to remove any portion you wish for clarity and brevity.

Q. What if I want to see the original text of the question that I'm answering, half way through my answer?

A.  You can minimize the reply window to see the original text of the question that you're answering.

Q Can I print out a question and answer without all the graphics?

In the AnswerPool "Tools" menu Printer Friendly Format Button. When the Printer Friendly page opens, click the File menu, Print command. More information here.
