Who would be monarch now had Edward VIII not abdicated?

It would depend on his having children. If he would have fathered children, one of them (or one of their children) would be King or Queen. However, had he not had children, the monarch would be, I think, Queen Elizabeth II. Let me ask this of some of our UK members, and I'll get back to you.
