Well Karma, this is going to be a tough one as so many have tried to claim the invention of the calendar and there are so many different types of calendars (Lunar, Egyptian, Gregorian, Western, etc.)

Here are some choices of sites to visit that may help you. The first URL is probably where I would start as it is a bit more basic..
