That would be Russell, but hey, we wouldn't get to know the outcome anyhow. We don't live long enough. A lot of people deal with the concept of the void by creating myths to overcome the feeling of pointlessness. Such myths include the whole sci-fi field, in which humans have endless possibilities. and of course the whole eternal-life-after-death business.
As for me, I see life as process, not goal-oriented. Even an hour's consciousness is precious. So don't let it bum you out, Moze.
