Who said "The streets are safe in Philadelphia. It's only the people who make them unsafe."?

Being a greater Philly native, ever heard the Rizzo Miranda warning?

"You have the right to remain silent, as long as you can stand the pain."

And, of course, Herr FusenBlitzen is correct.
Philadelphia, the only city in the US (to my knowledge) whose police force employed aerial bombing, is also known as the City of Brotherly Love.

Greyed - Throw in the legendary antics of Philly sports fans, the fact that Rocky was set there, that near the steps of the Philadelphia ART Museum, for God's sake, is a statue of Rocky Balboa, that Dick Clark, Joey Bishop and Chubby Checker are from there.....you've got to love that town.

I forgot to add the exploits of the hockey team there. (Granite City is just across the river from St. Louis, X.) Yet still, I DO love Philly; I love its history, its neighborhoods, and reading about its politics. St. Louis, and its neighbors, have their own charm, too. The Mayor of E. St. Louis, Illinois, once said that he felt safe because his bodyguards (I think he travelled with 4) were armed with "357 magnets (sic)." I assume that all metallic weapons would be pulled away from those wanting to harm His Honor. And up until 10 or 20 years ago, Yogi Berra's brother was in city government. I would have loved to hear his speeches ! Just recently, an Alderwoman in St. Louis was denied permission to break her fillibuster for a trip to the Ladies' room, so she used a wastebasket. (Yes, the sessions are filmed.) I love big cities!

Greyed - Agree. What we now call "political corruption" they used to call "color."

Then add the fact that Philly used to have a mob boss whose nickname was "Chicken Man."

He got blown up by a bomb on his front porch.

Chicken flambe?
