i have a solution that is colorless and gives red in flame test (possible cations are Ca and Sr). it forms white ppt with NH3, AgNO3 and NaOH. it does not react with FeCl3, HCl, CuCl2, HNO3, CH3COOH, and CoCl2
what can it be???(by the way my assignment is a n-bottle with 12 solutions)

I'm not sure what you mean by an n-bottle with 12 solutions means.

Your solution has a red flame test.
Calcium has a red-yellow flame test
Strontium is used in red fireworks... it could still be either.

A ppt with NH3. Ca will form a white ppt
Sr is in the same group...probably a ppt as well.

Ca(OH)2 is very soluble... Look up the solubility of Sr(OH)2 is there a difference?

A white ppt with AgN03.. All nitrates are soluble the precipitate in this case probably doesn't invole the cation..but rather the anion.
Cl-,I-,

It's important to go through your qualitative tests in a very specific logical order.
