I am so confused with moles. The first question reads: The atomic mass of Cl is 35.45 amu, and the atomic mass of Al is 26.98 amu. What are the masses in grams of 2 mol of Al atoms and of 3 mol of Cl atoms?

I have noo idea how to do the conversion factor and we have to show every step of our work. Please help.

The other question is How many moles of C atoms are in 1 mol of sucrose (C12H22O11) and How many C atoms are in 1 mol of sucrose.

If you could show me how to get the answers along with the conversion factors that would be extremely helpful. Thanks.

you're not as confused as you think.. just a bit of practice. AMU Atomic Mass unit.
Chemists don't work any harder than they have to. GMW gram Mole(cular) Weight is simply the AMU expressed in Grams.
your first problem 2 moles of Al

2.00 Moles AL *26.98 AMU * 1.00 GMW/1.00 AMU=
2.00 * 26.98 = 53.96. You can do the same for Cl

for your second part how many moles of carbon is in 1 mole of sucrose? Your formula is already in terms of Moles. C12H22011. If I tell you there are 22 moles of Hydrogen for each mole(cule) of sucrose and 11 moles of oxygen. you can finish the homework problem without me telling an answer.

Lastly once you know how many moles you can use Mr Avrogadro's number to figure out how many atoms . The Mole is defined as 6.022*10^23 atoms . (if you take the mass in grams of the atomic mass units).

There are 11.000 moles of oxygen in 1 mole of sucrose. 11.000 moles * 6.022^23 atoms/mole=
66.24^23 =6.624^24 a huge huge number

Good luck and welcome to chemistry.
