Engrium Sulfate has the formula, En2(SO4)3 While sodium nortonite has the formula Na2NtO3. Based on these names and formulas what would you expect the formula of engrium nortonate?

Sorry. It's been a while since I've logged in.
Some of the knowns. The anion S04 has a negative 2 charge. (S04)3 says we have 6 electrons.. We have 2 En so each En would be +3 to balance out the charge. Sodium is a +1 cation. we have Na2 or 2 + charges. The NtO3 Nortonite has a -2 charge. the Norton has +4 the 3 oxygens have 3x-2 for the net -2. Nt03-- is simliar to sulfite s03. One could figure that nortonate would be NtO4-- Engrium Nortonate should then be En2(SO4)3 I hope this helps but it's a month late |
