I guess it is a happy day for Chicago hockey fans. I don’t follow hockey all that much but I do know he was not a well loved man by Blackhawk fans.
The person who told me about Bill Wurtz’s death today is a big fan of hockey called me singing:
“Ding Dong! Bill Wurtz is dead. Which old Wurtz? The Wicked Wurtz! Ding Dong! the Wicked Wurtz is dead "
The Cubbies ownership has been odd, but they are in first place and I hope to see them at Shea next Wednesday . (I received my tickets to the NLDS home games one and five yesterday )

Wish I could get tickets to any of the games... no chance around here.
I've never in my life been happy to hear of someone's death... and everyone I know that loves hockey had the same reaction. Let's just hope his kid will allow television and will SPEND SOME MONEY!

I bought the tickets through the Mets “post season lottery”. I got lucky just as I did last year. They have never lost a post season game I have been to, and I have been to about a dozen since 1999. That is why I was sure to get tickets to a possible “ home game 3 ” since that would be game five of the NLDS if they were the home team .
Some of you might know I bleed Orange & Blue and after the past two or so weeks I have been hemorrhaging.
I have been suffering right along with the floundering Mutts, but I still believe .

Couldn't resist, Koz. I had to watch the Mariners unexpectedly play themselves into playoff contention all year, then take a dive late in the season when it counted most. Oh, well, at least baseball was fun in Seattle for the first time in a few years and there's actually reason to look forward to the future.
As for the Cubs, here's hoping! I'd love to see the Cubbies in the post-season. I'm going to be taking a Seattle-Chicago Amtrak trip in three weeks with my uncle, who's a red-hot Cubs fan. It might be a long 48 hours on the Empire Builder with him if the Cubs blow it.

Sorry Koz but I don't want my Cubs to play the Mets. I just don't like any part of that matchup.
(funny - the thing that I like least about when we play the Mets is that stoopid Yankee fans show up in their hats and jerseys. Talk about jerks. There isn't anything anyone can do to make me like Yankee fans.)
