Did anyone other than me watch the National Hockey League's Winter Classic game between the Sabres & the Penguins ? What did you think ?

I have to say that I really enjoyed watching it. A hockey game with snow falling, too cool. It is a shame that an outdoor arena means not having any fans up against the glass, but otherwise was quite fun. And, that Sidney Crosby is once bodaciously talented dude !

And so cute too! It's pretty amazing that at 20 he is captain of an NHL team.

Crosby is possibly Canada's next Wayne Gretzky Smile

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Buffalo WINTER CLASSIC [1-1-08]

Unfortunately, I think the commentator gets a bit excited and thinks he's in Boston at one point, but it's still a good piece of video. I'm not into hockey much, unless it's watching the Olympics, but outdoor games are definitely interesting. Smile

From my front window here, I can see a rink the neighbours have built on their front lawn. The children are out there from dawn until way after dark at the weekends. I think that's what makes the outdoor games so exciting for hockey fans; most of them can remember playing on frozen ponds and backyard rinks during their youth.

I agree Bob there will be only one Great one-Gretzky was an excellent player

and as regards S. Crosby, Bob,while at my father's funeral last year in June/07 in Nova Scotia, Crosby's Grand Mother was at the funeral service. Like my last name she was a Mc Carron who married a Crosby. I asked her what was it like to be the Grand Mother of a great hockey player. She replied:

"I have 17 grandchildren, all of whom I am proud of. When he comes home the star in Hockey doesn't impress us, he's just part of the family."
