Serve these instead of applesauce with ham, pork, etc. Delicious...
4 tart apples (I prefer Pippins) 8 tbs. butter 4 tbs. sugar
Core the apples. Peel them only if the skins are very tough. Cut them into 1/2 inch slices and saute' the slices in butter until just barely tender. Sprinkle with sugar, cover the pan and cook a few minutes more until they are glazed and golden. ____________________

11-01-03, 12:06 AM Di LOL Don, guess I should have mentioned, "spice to taste". I do add cinnamon but some people don't want to cover the pure apple flavor.
