Okay boys and girls, here's the situation. Shawn and I both work at the same place. The same place that employs about 200 people. I'm not opposed to having a big wedding, in fact, I'm looking forward to it. However, (here's the big but) there are a few people, (the VP of my department mainly) that I plain and simply DO NOT want at my wedding.

I'm not going to post an invitation at work (someone else did this and I thought it was kinda tacky), but I really don't want to send him one. I am afraid of him making my life a living heck if I don't though. What do you think? By etiquette, should I send him one and pray that he doesn't show up? Do I really have a choice here? Please help!!!!

If you are inviting more than two dozen or so co-workers, then, yes, I am afraid the VP should invited or he will correctly read it as a slight....but there is no rule that says you have to invite a jillion colleagues...the correct answer, when someone is tacky enough to press you is...."We have had to limit the list...and you know how family can be...."

by etiquette, you should invite your vp whether you like it or not. it's plainly rude if you don't . plus he/she's your boss.
