Have you ever heard of someone taking wedding dance classes? I'm thinking primarily for the first song. Do you think it is worth it or should I just swing it? No pun intended. LOL

P.S. Me and my hubby don't dance.

Oh yes, it is very traditional here. There are ballroom dance schools that have a 12 course lesson plan just for that. Many years ago I went to the Fred Astaire dance studio with a friend (gay, naturally) and the majority of the couples there were taking lessons for their upcoming wedding.

Whether it's worth it or not is up to the individual and and the style of the wedding. Since Southerners are known for their debutants and their formal weddings, a perfectly exexcuted fox-trot at the reception would be the icing on the cake (so to speak) yet might not seem as dignified in a more relaxed setting. Likewise, if after a formal wedding the groom and bride danced by just hanging in each other and swaying side to side...not so classy. It's up to you, your taste, and the type of wedding/reception you will be having.

Btw, I loved taking lessons and to me it was worth it, even tho it was for fun and not for a marriage.
