What do I wear to a beach wedding in June? The bride is Jewish, so the event is on a Sunday. Do I need two outifts? One for the wedding and another for the reception? Please help!

While I'm sure someone here can give you suggestions, your best bet is to talk to the couple, their families, or someone in the wedding party. What is proper at one wedding may not be appropriate attire at another (especially in the case of an outdoor wedding). My sister, for example, got married in an apple orchard and informed us that the dress code was "something you can play volleball in," but I'm sure there have been many formal weddings in apple orchards. Asking is your best bet.

It's better to be overdressed at a wedding than underdressed. I would wear something nice in a light color to kind of fit the beach type of colors. I don't mean the brights! Go pale. Skip the heels or you are going to kill yourself.

If you are not Jewish and the groom is also not Jewish, you would not be expected to dress in Jewish attire. Respect for differences goes both ways or thier views of religious differences wouldn't lead to a wedding. Many people at the wedding will probably not be Jewish.

I think a nice dress in pastel color that you would chose for a formal occasion would be fine. I wouldn't buy two unless the reception invitation was to a particular type of party afterwards that would require less formal clothing. If they wanted to have a beach wedding and a Hawiian lau (sp?) afterwards, that would be a completely different story.
