Has anyone tried these ovens? The television ad makes it sound just fine for my husband and myself because we don't cook a lot, especially in summer.

But the hype is putting me off. Is it a good product?

I am not totally familiar with the Flavor Wave Oven but did find this article.

It is a report done on NBC4 News in Southern California.

A couple took it home to try it and were disappointed because the food was not done when the cooking chart said it would be.

Supposedly you can cook frozen meat in it but they couple said all the seasonings fell off during the cooking process so their meats were tasteless.

you can read about it here

That is a good site, Esencia, thank you for your trouble. I found a site by myself but it was all testemonials, it was sponsored by the retailer.

I think I'll give it a miss. I was intriqued by the idea of conduction, convection and infrared heat all at once. My husband reminds me that I'm a gadget freak -- a tendency I need to control!

I'll be content with my convection oven which is fine for small meals. Thanks again for your help.

It was no problem.

I am not a big fan of 'As seen on TV' stuff myself.

A few years ago I purchased a Ron Popiel Pasta Maker I had seen on one of his many infomercials. I had more problems with it than it was worth. I never even got the machine to make any kind of pasta. It was a mess. I was very dissatisfied and Popiel Inc. didn't care one bit.

I ended up sending the item back to the company with a very nasty letter. I told them I would never purchase anything from Popiel Inc. ever again and would discourage anyone else from buying from them too. And I never received one penny back from them either. I don't remember the exact price but it was over $100 I paid for it.

So that is my story as to why I am not a big fan of 'As seen on TV' stuff.

I own a flavor wave oven and i must admit that cooking raw, frozen boneless chicken breasts turn out very very good and juicy of course. I have cooked my times whole frozen chickens and i believe you have to cook them longer than the chart says so. Now for cooking fresh turkeys or fresh chicken....wow, I must say it is very good tasty, juicy and excellent with your own spices. It took me about two hours to do a fresh 12 pound unstuffed turkey and with the turkey and chicken , i found that you definitely have to turn over the chicken and turkey like the chart says so. I have also done ribs and they turn out very juicy and good but i do turn them over half way during the cooking time and they are very good and also all meat have the grease going to the bottom of the pan and your meat is not saturated in the grease. Also i have done fresh chicken wings and cook them for about twenty minutes on each side and they are great believe me......I have tried frozen and fresh steaks, along with pork chops and I prefer to do them on the bbq but they do turn out okay on the flavor wave .
