Other than the stove/oven and the fridge, what kitchen appliances do you think are most neccessary?

For me, it's these:
Coffee Maker
microwave
hand mixer
and
blender

Don't get me wrong, I have others that I love and there are even more that I'd love to have, these are just the "can't manage without them" items.... what electrical appliances can't you do without?

Your kettle is electric? Mine sits on the stovetop... and I love elevenses!

Now tell me that yours has a whistle in the spout so you hear when it's about to boil SmileAaah, memories of childhood! (Though those kettles have started to appear in posh kitchenalia boutiques here. They must be for a younger generation who think 'What a new idea! And unique! Just the thing for the Aga !' Mine does whistle- it is a slightly battered Revere kettle with the copper bottom that I've had for at least 15 years.

Well, it might be the butler, or in less grand homes, one's 'Little Treasure' Big Grin
Having fallen on hard times, I use a cafetière.

Couldn't survive without my microwave, though in college it was my open-coil heating unit (shhhh!!!). And my toaster. Other than that, I just stick to the oven and fridge. We do have a separate stand-up freezer in the garage which is very handy, and a supermarket-type standup cooler out there for summer parties -very helpful when the whole family comes over!!

I would be very sad if I didn't have my George Foreman Grill Frown

I'm also very partial to my electric frying pan and rice cooker, and my SO likes his bread machine Big Grin
