I like European bread-tough and chewy'er the better....
Are any of these machines capable of putting out a high grade loaf European bread? Are recipes available. ???

They certainly can, Don. We have eaten only bread self baked in our machine for the past four years, and it's great. I'll let you have a recipe as soon as I can get my beloved to tell me. She's tied up at the moment (not, I might add, to the kitchen stove!)

I really like the bread from my WelBit machine - I have the larger one (1.5 lbs) - they have a smaller one as well..... You should be able to get this in FL....

The machine only BAKES bread for loaves - but it will allow you to prepare it through the dough/rise cycle for you to be able to make pizza, rolls, pita bread, etc.....

I say go for it - definitely worth the small price

I agree with the first two statements. My breadmaker gives specific instructions on how to make the dough as chewy or as crusty as you like. Yumm....My grandmother gave me her breadmaker, and I think I gained 5 pounds in the first week!
