For many years I've been in search for an artificial white christmas tree to replace mine. I finally found one on sale for $299.99 which is in my price range as opposed to many others that are $500 or more. But this is a pre-lit tree and I've never had one before.

Are there any of you who have a pre-lit tree and if so, what are your opinions on them? I've already done a search on the Consumer Safety Report website and the only thing I have found was a recall of the GreatLand tree from Target back in 1993.

This is the tree I am interested in purchasing:

I bought a 7 foot pre-lit tree a few years ago for $150.00. (I found it at a home and garden store) It is so pretty and the clear lights are perfectly spaced. They wrap around the tree so tight you can't see the cord at all. I hated twisting around the tree trying to put those unruly lights on it. I would NEVER go back to putting lights on myself again.

P.S. Try checking the home and garden places (nursery stores) in your area. I personally wouldn't buy a Christmas tree online. You need to actually see the tree displayed to tell if you like the size, shape, sturdiness and feel of it. My tree was $150.00 on sale (closeout) and is BEAUTIFUL! I love it! Smile

Thanks Clare. Smile
I've actually been checking local stores for years but white trees have not been a stocked item for quite some time now. That is the only reason I turned to the internet search. This site will actually send you a branch as a sample, and all purchases are refundable. Not to mention, the trees come with a free 10 year replacement warranty.

So....I went ahead and ordered the tree this morning. Should be here in 2-3 days which is great because I'll be on vacation so can be home when it arrives. I was mainly curious if anyone had complaints about pre-lit trees and it looks like you are quite happy with your's so I'm sure I'll adore mine!

I'm sure you will love it! The lights are strung on each branch so the light is right by the tip of the tree. My tree is so pretty. The top of the tree has lights on it too so my angel tree topper is lit up! It is great. Something weird though, it seemed like after I got the prelit tree I didn't need as many ornaments. I went from 4 foot tree to a 7 foot tree and I don't seem to have as much room. (weird)It may just be the shape of the tree or I may have used more ornaments to cover spots that didn't have lights. Now it all has lights so I don't need as many. It looks better with less.

Let me know how you like it! Smile
