I did buy some items from Ebay, I WAS satisfied by the quality. I have also bought from their affiliate Half.com and bought many DVD's (and sold some as well) and was very satisifed.

I buy from e-bay all the time, and love it. I have been aquireing a set of dishes that were only made in the 1930's. I would never have been able to get any of these if it weren't for e-bay. Anyway, Wildflower, yes you bid the amount that would be the most that you would want to pay for something. Then e-bay bids in incruments for you, but does not go over your limit. When the auction ends, they will let you know if you won or not. One thing to keep in mind, when you decide what you want to pay, you must consider shipping costs. I sometimes will ask the seller before I bid what the shipping would be based on my zip code. Also, you have to decide if you want insurance or not. I used to always buy it, but then realized that if the item was lost, I would only get my bid price back, not including the shipping that I paid. If you buy a $10.00 item, it might be worth the risk, instead of adding another $1.30 on to the price. I never insure anything now (since my bid price is so low) and I haver always gotten everything fine. Another thing that I do is bid low, and bid often. I loose a lot of auctions, but when I win one, I feel I got the item for a good price. So many people sell things on e-bay now, that if you loose a few, the item will come back up soon. Make sure if you have ANY questions about an item, ask the seller before you bid.
