Do you know of a company where I can send in a lotion or soap sample and they can make me a perfect perfume match?

I am trying to match Sears Circle of Beauty White Moonflowers which was discontinued several years ago. I have spent way too much money trying to find a match but nothing comes close enough. I do still have the lotion and soaps.

OK Clare...after much searching I came up with the following information. I only wish that the place that I had answered before was still in business (not just for you, but me too - as I no longer even have a sample of what I had customized Frown)

Anyway...What I found is a company by the name of Kamala Perfumes and they are located in Chicago. In addition to creating fragrances for you, they will also recreate a fragrance (but not for "knockoff" purposes - only if the fragrance is no longer available). So...this sounds like it might be what you've been looking for.
Here is their website

"We can also try to duplicate a scent for you. We will not do knock-offs, but we will be happy to re-create a scent you just can't find anymore. In fact, I was present when Kamala got a scent so close that the client accused her of pouring the sample into a new bottle. We can't put a price on a website, because a re-creation price changes with the oils used. If you would like to take advantage of this service, you will have to call our store at 847-424-1963 and get further instructions"

I do hope this helps you! Let me know - I'd love to have them try to come up with what I created before (I sort of remember the oils that were in it!).

I just spoke with the owner Dana on the phone. She said she can't make any guarantees but to send her a sample. She will be able to tell by smelling it if she can duplicate it. I'm gonna send her a lotion and a soap sample this week. I'll be sure to post what I find out. Thanks. Smile

I haven't gotten out to send it yet. I haven't wanted to brave the weather. I'm just snuggling up at home. When it clears up a little I will send the sample right out! Smile

Sorry I didn't post sooner. I mailed it out to her about a week ago and I just called her to check on it today. She is in the process of making it. I will let you know how close it is.
I owe you big time for this Lydia!

Put it on my tab. Wink

Bad News. Frown

I got the perfume and I will NOT say what I spent on it. (*blush*).

Not only does it smell NOTHING like my perfume (which is fruity and floral), it has a strong scent of an Indian Temple. Roll Eyes

I'm really surprised because I sent a sample and I don't see how she could possibly think they smelled the same. Confused

Lydia,

I do want to thank you so much for finding the company for me. Please don't buy from them... Ever.

PS. You can still send me a bill. Put it on my tab! Big Grin

Awww Clare, that's really a shame. Did you inform her that it smells absolutely nothing like what you gave her as a sample? I'd have thought if she was in this type of a business that she'd have a "nose" for this kinda thing!!!

Do tell though, how much did you pay for it?????
Does it smell at all good (even though it doesn't smell like what you wanted)?

Is it an "incensy" kinda smell???

Clare. I found someone who might be able to help you. This is what she had to say:

We will try to Find or Duplicate Your Perfume - Please E-mail me directly at alexmaxnewyork AT yahoo.com so that we can communicate directly and I will send you samples, if you can send me a drop or two of Your Perfume - Otherwise I will search my Suppliers but I must hear from you direct. Thank You.

It's worth at least the cost of an e-stamp to try, doncha think? Wink

Actually I didn't call her back. It says no guarantees and I knew that going into it. She did send me the soap sample back and she didn't even unwrap it. She is the owner too.

It smells horrible. It is really incensey strong like... I can't even describe it. Like an Indian Temple!! LOL I even tried to put some on and I had to wash it off. If you want I could send you the soap and the sample and you can smell for yourself! ick!

I think I will send the soap sample and the perfume back with a note asking how she could possible think that these smelled the same. I'm just gonna throw it out anyway. Its horrible.
The perfume I had was a sweet, soft, clean fresh scent. I don't see HOW she could send me what she did.

Georgia,

Ok I will send an email.

LOL Clare - I think you'd hate my perfume!! It smells like an Indian temple too Big Grin

You still didn't answer though (and don't have to, I'm just curious about her prices compared to the place that closed in Boston) - - how much did she charge and how much did you actually get??
