This may not be the place to put this plea - however, I have spent the last 45 minutes trying every conceivable place I can think of to find one tiny little item - a holder for false teeth.

My hubby has full dentures and I have upper dentures and we take them out at night (Lordy, what a sight!) and we want something 'cute' to put them in. I can not find anywhere that sells them. I have tried every seller's search engine I can find, e-bay, yahoo, etc.

Can anyone out there help me?

tnks,
phy

well, I guess I would need your definition of "cute". Do you mean "Classy" "Funny" .. or what?

Can you describe what you would like?

1. Buy two stubby little glass jars of salsa or whatever -- there are a lot in a suitable size range. Eat the contents.

2. Buy a hobby kit for glass decoration. Any paint that will adhere to glass will do. Transparent paint is nice, but you should have some opague, too.

3. Look through the images on a number of sites such as this one false teeth (Or just any cute cartoon or photo) and trace it from your screen onto tracing paper or print it and then adjust the size using the 'squares' method or save the image and resize it using your photo/image software.

4. Transfer the image to the glass, or cut the paper and tape it to the inside of the jar. Use the image to guide your eye as you color the exterior of the jar. Add other images - the same or complementary to make a pleasing arrangement around the outside of the jar. Fill in the spaces between the images with opaque paint. Dry well and cover with clear acrylic. Cover the lid with crumpled foil glued to the outside. You could write 'his' and 'hers' on the tops in raised material such as modelling clay before you glue on the foil, but remember, there is such a thing as being too cute.

This will work. If you want a photo, I can photo some spice jars I did.

I think something Like these is what this lady is looking for Big Grin Lot of these do link to Ebay
Move the Mouse pointer (over the picture) to see where it leads to?
Tip...If the sale is "closed". Look in both the index to the left and at the sellers "other items"(on the top of the list ...may be lucky that it may be an unsold withdrawn item (and listed again elsewhere?)

Hi phyleaux. Welcome to AnswerPool. Smile

They do have Vintage Teeth holders on Ebay if you want something cute.

There are denture holders in different colors and shapes. Not too silly but they have some style.

Old fashioned "Hair recievers" and some covered sugar bowls are the right size and many are seriously beautiful... I've seen them in porceline (sp?) and glass... I had one that was this amazing milk glass with silver chasing...Oriental tea caddies are also an option.
I like Bab's idea about making personalized jars for the purpose.

Oh, my goodness - yall are so insightful! I really like the idea of making my own. I've never tried anything like that, but I could try.

I did look at all the suggestions yall gave and I did find some things I liked, but all were sold and no one had any others like them, so I may have to do my own.

By the way, what is a "Diamond Enthusiast"? As you can tell, I am really new to the AnswerPool, but I know I'll be on often as I have a good deal of questions I need answers to/for.

Thanks much for your help.
