I came up with this unique gift idea for my brother and thought I'd share it.
I always have a hard time getting him something for Christmas.
So this year, I am making him my own gift basket.
It's going to have significant stuff we watched, read, ate etc... when we were growing up.
We're 80's children so I got him 3 DVDs. The first one was Spaceballs because everytime we saw it in the theater (a total of 3x) we were always like 'We've seen this movie a million times!' The second one I picked was The Muppets Take Manhatten because everytime that was on TV, we were watching it. And lastly, I picked The Princess Bride. I picked that one because he was always going around saying "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!"
I'm going to get a box of Cookie Crisp cereal because we were always begging our parents for it.
And some candy we always had like "Now & Laters", "Pixie Stix" (he was always trying to get me to snort the darn things!), candy cigerettes and some others.
I am looking for the books "From the Mixed up Files of Mrs. Basil E Frankweiler" by E.L. Konigsburg and "Tiki Tiki Tembo"...'tiki-tiki-tembo-no-sarembo-chari-bari-ruchi-pip-peri-pembo has fallen into the well! lmao (anyone else remember that book?)
I am slo trying to find the game "Paperboy". We used to play it on NES ALL of the time. I found i(and bought it!) for Gameboy Advance but I need it for XBOX.
And I am going to make a CD that will have commercials, tv show theme songs and cartoon theme songs on it as well.
I think it is a wonderful idea and a great way to take somebody "Back in Time".
