It really depends on the person. I used to kiss because it was expected - what a waste! A kiss should be a mutual thing.

I think it depends on who I'd be with, if the time was right, and the feelings were right maybe. razz

I have never been on a date in my life. But I don't think I would, personally.

it would depend.
if i knew the person really really well; we were friends before, and this was an 'official date' then sure!
if i didnt know they guy that well, heck no.

I think it depends on how long I've known the person before the first date.

I have never really 'dated.' In my town it's just a label of "going out" and it's not like you go on a date and that's it.
Anyway you don't have to be on a date to kiss. My first kiss..... uh oh.... don't remember. I think it might have been in seventh grade Confused Well anyway my first kiss with my current boyfriend was in his car after he drove me home from school. That wasn't a date... we weren't even officially "going out"/dating.
So since I've never been on an official date date thing I can't really say. I guess it just depends.

Did any of that make sense? Razz

Depends on the date, if they are interesting enough I'll kiss (not tell though Wink)

I think that a kiss should happen, not be something forced - if it is forced then it is all wrong, if it is delayed, it is all wrong too.

Did that make sense?

If you do kiss on the first date, enjoy it and don't feel guilty about it. If you don't, don't feel like your doing something wrong. Let it happen when it happens. Enjoy it while you got it.

I've kissed on first dates. It just depended on how I enjoyed the date. I also had first dates that I didn't kiss. There's no 'right or wrong'.

For what it's worth, I kissed my husband on the first date! Wink

I was never one to do so. I earnestly believe the curiosity led to quite a bit more passionate kissing on the second date!

When I was in school, I was too shy (too shy or afraid of letting my feelings show) to kiss on the first date, especially if I really cared about the girl.

Hmm, apparently I voted but never answered! I am pretty sure that I would have voted “it depends” but realistically my answer would be “probably.” I never really actually dated much but there was a lot of hanging out with people with whom I had a mutual attraction. These episodes usually wound up with some kissing going on. I think that kissing is a pure and honest way of showing your emotion. I never fake it with a kiss. If I like you, my lips will let you know.
So on a first date, I am likely to have kissed my date at some point, even if it’s just a goodnight kiss. But, it may only be a kiss on the cheek -in which case my date probably knows there will be no second evening!
...Look at me, talking about dating in the present tense, as if I still do it. Not that I ever did much of it at all! Nowadays, ALL of my dates include kissing because all of my dates are with my husband! Hee hee!

Good for you Elixena :> and WAY TO GO Shelster! Although there have been umpteen songs stating there is no such thing as 'one love' etc etc, I still beleive in it (though am certainly not hunting for it). It is a beutiful, natural phenomenon and should be left at that.
As many posts here pointed out, there are no hard and fast rules, or no right or wrongs.
Chicabird, IamTWP and Mystery250 would you pretty please participate in the poll/forum whether dating is useful.
CIAO for now,
Pin~Jinx
