I know what you right handers will say, waah...waah...waah. But seriously, it is a right handers world! Let's see how many right handed only things you can think of. Mine are:
1. shirt buttons 2. guns 3. shirt pockets 4. can openers 5. spiral note books ************************************************ 10-09-02, 12:45 AM MrSensitive (sorry for any repeats) Travel mug lids wind-up watches ice cream scoops circular saws can openers computer mouses some musical instruments

10-09-02, 07:15 AM FizzyChip I always seem to have great difficulty with keys & locks - I think the majority must be made with a right hand in mind.
the website of Anything Left handed, the oldest leftie store in the world.
I know most things can be bought which a tailored for the left hander, but it drives me crazy as they're hard to get and cost more than the regular right handed stuff. Why can things be designed for ambidextrous use in the first place???
10-09-02, 08:28 AM Texan-In-Exile I've wondered that too - why some things weren't made ambidexterously (And I'm a "rightie"!). There are times I stop and wonder how awkward something would feel to a "leftie." confused
Maybe we "righties" should have a "Leftie Day" - Try using our left hand when we can just to see how awkward some things would be! red face
An interesting note - I think I could still easily pour coffee with my left hand, although I mostly use my right now. But when I was a teen, I was used to pouring the hot water for instant coffee with my left hand, because the stove was to the left of the counter! Go figure! wink
(PS - Does that website have a "left-handed monkey wrench"? big grin ) (Sorry - A joke men like to play on women!) roll eyes
10-09-02, 10:58 PM nursey63 I never realize how tough it might be dealing with being a lefty. They should make things more equal. I know my husband was thankful when my last son seems to be right handed he is only 3. My husband says that he would have to get special guns to deer hunt and they cost a fortune. Nursey a righty smile
10-10-02, 06:09 PM gatman Those desks in school always bugged me.
10-10-02, 06:46 PM JoMS There are advantages, though. Since it’s a right-handed world, we have to learn to use both hands. So, any two-handed activity (like typing) comes much more naturally to us. I’ve worked in a lot of printers’ keyboard departments, big and small, over the years, and there’s never been less than 50% lefties. In one smallish department, all 10 of us were left-handed. (The keyboard ops make the best money, so everybody tries it. Anybody who can’t get speed and accuracy is thrown back. The lefties survive) smile
10-11-02, 04:27 AM hassia maybe you ought to open a store and call it the "leftorium"
10-21-02, 02:50 PM gatman coffee cups with the pattern on one side only. What's so hard about going around to both sides?
