What exactly IS social science? It's not like the other sciences', can you tell me what it is??

If you think about the study of the world (the earth), you can divide most sciences into two categories:

Physical sciences (things that can be measured, weighed, etc.):

geology
chemistry
physics
biology

Social sciences (mostly about human behavior):

psychology
sociology
anthropology

Social sciences also include:

linguistics
geography (characteristics of an environment)
political science
ethnology

Social sciences do not include human expression, even though they also involve the study of men and women (these are "humanities"):

art
music
literature
