My grand mother just turned 92, and I'm trying to find statistics on how many Americans (currently living) are over the age of 90. Any help in finding this statistic would be appreciated.

Best I can find is for age 85+

http://www.census.gov/cgi-bin/ipc/idbpyrs.pl?cty=US&out=s&ymax=250

If you can figure out the chart for 2000 let me know. It is broke down by gender and age.

"Slightly fewer than 2 million Americans are 90 and older, but that number is expected to grow to 10 million by 2050."

Source

With a US population of slightly less than 300 million, 2/3 of one percent seems reasonable.

Thanks for the help you guys. I'd better not tell my grand bother that she's only one of about 2 million. Still, that actually is a lot. We're going to need a lot more handicap parking spaces in 2050, I think...
