A picture frame is a framework for showing a picture. A picture shows exactly what the scene is. What do you definitively know about the events of the story? Compare that to what you think happens in the story? Does the story tell you exactly what is happening, exactly who the two 'strangers' are? Does it tell you that the two are, in actuality, real? Or is there another interpretation of just who those two people are and where they reside?
