What a marvelous topic for an essay! We obviously should not write this essay for you but might be available to answer questions that are reflective of your study.

I don't know which specific poets you have read, but Wordsworth, Keats, Blake, Hugo, Byron, Burns, and others of the era are giants of their craft.

If you have no idea where to begin, consider the history of an just preceding the era for guidance. Though romantics cannot be boxed together neatly, they tended to favor aesthetic qualities over reason:

"Come forth into the light of things, let Nature be your teacher." ~ William Wordsworth

Ralph Waldo Emerson was a very influential poet in the Romantic period.
quote:
For all men live by truth, and stand in need of expression. In love, in art, in avarice, in politics, in labor, in games, we study to utter our painful secret. The man is only half himself, the other half is his expression.

Just remember that the Romantic Period focused on self awareness. Self and nature were together as one. Think of the beauty in nature and the breathtaking view of the mountains. It is that feeling you get in your heart, mind and soul. These responses gave way to more psychological based ideas.
