We are doing book clubs on historical fiction novels, and I was assigned to read pages 1-75 of The Watsons go to Brimingham-1963. My job for the book club is to collect facts about historical events relating to the books, except since it is just the beginning of the book, there have been none referenced yet. Just an introduction to the main character, Kenny, and his life. What should I turn in, since nothing much has happened yet?

I would think that an over-view of the time in which the book takes place would be what is needed, to place into perspective what the political, social and cultural implications are in relation to the characters and events of this book.
Surely you must have at least an idea of what the basic plot is. This background you research may help make the characters and events clearer and well-rounded. |
