My favorite vacation spot is on a sail boat in the middle of the British Virgin Islands.

I love to feel the wind blow thru my hair, I love the smell of the ocean and the way the boat rocks as the ocean breaths beneath us.

I love to feel the rain and watch the waves crash against the boat. I love the sunshine and the little sparkles, like diamonds that are reflected off the peaks of the waves.

I love to watch the dolphins race the boat and frolic with glee, I love to watch the baracuda's float under the boat waiting for a tasty morsel to drop down to them.

I love the sea turtles and their majestic rise from the ocean floor -- like prehistoric monsters coming up from the deep.

I love to watch the stars at night -- I make wishes all night long as they shoot across the sky like a fireworks show designed especially for me.

I love to be lulled to sleep each night, it makes me feel safe and secure.

I love the unpredictability of the sea, so clear and calm and suddenly so powerful and mighty.

This is the only place on earth I have been so far that makes me feel so small -- yet so much a part of it all. It's where I go to restore my soul.

What about you?

I have been to many vacation spots in Mexico, Canada, the US, England, Scotland and Wales, Africa and Tahiti, and before I'd go back to any of them, I'd go back to Tahiti, never mind it takes 9 hours on the plane.

The Tahitians are warm, hospitable people who go out of the way for tourists, and the islands themselves are satisfyingly remote and at the same time, comfy. Many things are NOT there but those things that are more than make up for them.

I'll go back if I get a chance.

Hi,
Have just come across your thread and thought I would reply.I love the City of San Francisco, the cable cars, walking across Golden Gate Bridge, the eerie fog warnings from Alcatraz Island, the sound of the sealions (and smell) by Pier 39.The people are very friendly and the restaurants are superb.Although its a 10/11 hour flight from London,my wife and I have managed three trips to SF so far,and hope to make there again soon.
A truly great city in a great country.
Regards to all

I quite agree Desi, San Francisco is a fabulous place to visit. We went there three years ago while on a California coach tour. We loved everywhere in California but wished we had had longer in SF. Will certainly go back again. Smile
