I'm a Disney World and Lake Eola/NYPD Deli (thats in Orlando) type person myself. Although I have to admit the Kentucky and Manchester MA run a close second.
My favorite place is Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I love it. The food the people. I would love to move there if I could convince my spouse. This small town stuff is not for me. But thank goodness we are headed there in a few days.
Well, I live in Ireland and I can attest to it's beauty!
My favourite place that I've been to is Port Douglas, Australia. It's where the rainforrest and the Great Barrier Reef meet, and great for wildlife viewing. My absolute favourite place is Antarcica/ South Georgia, because there are lots of penguins there. I'm going there in November and can't wait!
My favourite place so far is California. I wanted to visit the West Coast for years and finally got around to it. We started in San Francisco and rented a Mustang. We drove to Yosemite, beautiful place, and then across to Monterey and Carmel. Then down the wonderful Pacific Coast Highway stopping at various places, ending up in LA. I always think of this trip when I'm a bit down.
Andyvmax: You certainly picked the right area of California to visit. I am glad you had the opportunity to drive the PCH, especially from Big Sur. I have seen your name on the "other" answer place and I am curious, does Andy own a V Max?

Another place I thought of that I love to go is Howe Caverns in NY. It is beautiful and so peaceful to stay at the hotel by the caves. There are plenty of fireflies to keep us Floridians that don't see them much happy.
sae501, yeah I did have a V-Max when I registered the name some time ago, a wicked machine. However, my other half used to get scared on the back, so as most of our trips are done together, I recently sold it and bought a trike. Although it's not as quick (not much is) it's still a laugh and we can carry more luggage to rallies. Must be getting old
The Thousand Island area on the New York / Canadian border is about as beautiful a place as these eyes have ever seen http://www.ontournet.com/media/images/a7pic.jpgEdited to remove image, whuch is available at the link provided.

Hey Silja, I'm coming over to Dublin in two weeks, I can't wait!
The most beautiful place I have ever been is the Bavarian Alps. We went to Neuschwanstein Castle ( where they filmed Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) and the Passion Play at Oberammagau. The scenery is totally breathtaking, and so peaceful and unspoilt.

Hi zildjian, I was wondering what is your favourite resort on Menorca? I've just come back from there, I stayed at Cala Blanca. I've only been to Menorca once.
My favourite place is Puerto de Pollensa, Mallorca. It's a beautiful big bay with a golden sandy beach, a harbour and a market. It's fairly quiet, just how I like it.

well, id say new zealand, but ive only been there once so i cant really claim it as my favorite place to vacation. for that, i would have to pick vancouver island, anywhere along it, on the ocean side, not the strait side. its a humbling and awesome thing to look out and see nothing but water, and know that there IS nothing but water for thousands of miles.
