Picture of Rainbow's End

I've been told that dreaming of a birth means that there is going to be a death. Is this true?

Dreams are what you make of them and interpretation of a dream is a very personally matter. Only the person who has the dream can truely interpret it.

That being said, to dream of a birth can either be a birth in real life (if you dream is prophetic which most are not) or a coming event or a new beginning.

I love dream analysis and interpretation. Things to consider when you try to analysis your dreams are:

what is going on in your life?
how did you feel when you awoke from your dream?

Dreams are your mind's way of reviewing and analysing long term and short term memories. It kicks around emotions, thoughts, ideas etc. The mind is also influenced by your background and trends in your life. It processes spiritual data, your beliefs and whether or not you violated them. All this chaos is going on as well as your subconscious "reading between the lines" of what people are telling you.

Dreams are easily influenced by your life. So lay back and enjoy your personalized movie! Smile

Dreaming of a birth is the beginning of something new. Dreaming of death is the ending of something and not a literal death. When you dream it is your mind's way of sorting everything out in your mind. If you actually get to the point of dreaming then you have reached the deep sleep REM.

This was copied from dream moods:

quote:
Birth
To dream of giving birth or see someone else giving birth, suggests that you are giving birth to a new idea or project. It also represents new beginnings or some upcoming event. A more direct interpretation of this dream, may represent your desires/ anxieties of giving birth or the anticipation for such an event to occur.

To dream that you are giving birth to a non-human creature, signifies you overwhelming (an unfounded) fear in the health of your baby. You are overly concerned that your baby may have birth defects. This type of dream is common in expectant mothers in their second trimester. If you are not expecting, then it refers to your fear in the outcome of some decision or project. You are trying to overcome difficulties in your life and achieve inner development. In particular, if you dream that you are giving birth to a monster, then it implies that your inner creative energy has yet to differentiate itself and grow into expression. You may hold some hesitation in releasing this "monster" for fear that others will judge your or that they will not accept your ideals.

To dream that the mother dies during birth, represents transformation. The dream represents the ending of one thing (death) and the new beginning of another thing (birth). You may be making life changes or getting rid of your old habits and ways.

I would post the link but there are about 7 popups there. If you do a search on dream interpretations and may find similar meanings.

Welcome to the Pool! Smile

Giving information on interpreting a dream...and interpreting a dream for someone are two entirely different things. Think of it this way. You want a cake. Now I could go out and buy one for you...or I could give you a recipe book and the tools you need and you can bake whatever cake you want to based on what appeals to you.

I never attempted to interpret her dream. I gave her information on what dreams are and how she can go about her own interpretations. The answer I provided was not an interpretation.

Would giving information on interpreting a dream be different than dreams being what the dreamer makes of them?

I posted what I believed to be the meaning of dreaming about a birth. It is believed to be the beginning of something new in someone's life. Georgia also agreed that dreaming of a birth could be the coming of an event or a new beginning. Only Rainbow's end knows what is happening in her life and how a new beginning or event could be about to start. We in no way could possibly know what is going on in her life. The sites I have found on dreams gave me many popups so I will not post them here. A google search will link to many dream interpretation sites. Rainbow's end needs to search within herself and decide how her life is changing and what the dream could possibly mean. It is a very personal matter. We are just trying to help get her started in the right direction to look within herself.

We try to give the best information we can. How a poster interprets it or applies it to their life is a personal matter. Her dream could mean nothing more than eating a piece of pizza and watching a pampers commercial before bed. Giving information on any topic is always different that what the person makes of it. We are just trying to help the best we can to get her started in the right direction. I personally believe it is the beginning of something new happening in life. Only Rainbow's End could know what that new beginning is.

Jusork, you did not try to answer the question at all. What do you think her dream meant?

Rainbow's End- Welcome to the pool! *splash* Smile

Well yeah, all you know is that it's a birth and I guess there's some more configuring or whatever for her dream. You guys would probably be mostly there to whatever it is though, unless it's nothing at all so yeah, like you said, that's another thing.

What do I think? Well, I'm just going to have to trust that you know know what you're talking about. Wink I'm with you guys, although I'm not sure how much can really be made out of dream interpretation in the first place.

Yea, we know what we're talking about - we're posting here aren't we Wink

The way I look at it, Clare and I just answered Rainbow's question....does dreaming about birth mean death? That's probably an old wive's tale. She didn't ask us to analyze or interpret - just to answer a question which I think we both did excellently.

You've taken a personal interest in this....very interesting.... Wink
