My boyfriend and I are having the same recurring dreams every night. All my dreams are about him cheating on me, or I can't get a hold of him because we keep missing eachothers phone calls, or we are in the same room but he pays no attention to me, sort of avoiding me. and eventually in the dream we end up breaking up. He will dream the same thing sometimes, but most of his dreams are that I am leaving to the store and I dont come home till the next day or that I am talking to people on my phone then deleting the number, we both wake up mad and frusturated with eachother.

We want to stop having these dreams, we are completely faithful to one another and have no intentions on ever being with anybody else so why are we having these dreams and how can we stop having them?

These sorts of dreams often happen when people have stress in their lives -not necessarily the stress that is portrayed in the dream, but some sort of stress that manifests itself in the dream. Often, a dream of infidelity is a message to the dreamer, not one about the dreamer's partner. Perhaps there are trust issues or commitment issues that you are not aware of. Instead of being mad and frustrated with each other about your dreams, make sure you are actually talking to each other about things that matter and things that are important to each other. Make sure your relationship is truly strong in the ways that matter, and the dreams will resolve themselves.

May I ask, how old you are and how long you have been together?

i am 22 and he is 25, we have been together for 8 months now. A big part of it is that i did cheat on him in the beginning of the relationship and he did walk in on it. I regret it and i know in my heart i will never do it again. We talk through it but it's still really hard for both of us. I have the same dream almost everynight that i can't get a hold of him and he wont answer his phone or i miss his phone call and eventually we have left one another.

It seems these dreams are likely stemming from your real life stress and are not anything unusual or supernatural. They are not premonition dreams, they are dreams of what has already happened. Everyone has recurring dreams, they may reflect actual stressors in our lives, remembered traumas, or impossible but realistic events (does anyone ever really go to school with no clothes on? I don’t think so). Your relationship is very young, and has already suffered a pretty serious setback. It does not surprise me that one or both of you is still trying to get things on track. This is always a difficult scenario, and sometimes it just takes time, lots of time, to get through. You may have these dreams forever, but if you continue to work through your problems openly, continue to talk to your boyfriend honestly and he is communicating honestly with you, your stress dreams should subside.

Thank You for the advice. Another thing I wanted to add, for the last 3 months I have been dreaming about the ocean, it seems if I don't have the dreams about my boyfriend I have dreams of the ocean. Usually it is always beautiful clear blue but splashy and we are treing to get away or we are in the center of the ocean having dinner or something. Or on a cliff and it's rising to the top. What does this mean?

Sounds like more anxiety. Are you anxious about anything else in your life? Job security in the event of a recession? Health? Family problems?

You can have a kind of generalized anxiety that 'personifies' itself in the form of some threatening situations in a dream.

What do you do on regular basis to blow off steam, to relax, to divert yourself? exercise is one of the very best things for that!

And way safer and cheaper than going on Valium!!

It means whatever you want it to mean or think it means. Dreams, like tarot cards and horoscopes, are very subjective and open to interpretation. One dream book may say one think, another something else. A dream book may be a place to start, but the messages you get from an ocean dream will differ from those I would get.

That said, the site Dream Moods has this to say:
quote:
Ocean
To see an ocean in your dream, represents the state of your emotions and feelings.? It is indicative of some spiritual refreshment,? tranquility and renewal.
(Question marks theirs)
