Ladies and gentlemen, I am sorry but this has been bugging me for years, and I am hoping someone may have some insight on the meaning of this dream.

I find myself in a house. I get the feeling from the dream that I sort of am and am not supposed to be there at the same time. The house is only seen from the inside. The interior is very dark, wood - rich and polished. It is very spacious. There is furniture, but it's not overwhelming, just kind of "blends in". The house is three stories high. But something about the third floor is not welcoming, yet it "begs" to be investigated. Each time I have this dream, I remind myself "hey, check out the 3rd floor".
Getting to the third floor is not simply done by walking up a stairwell. I have to maneuver myself through passages and small crawl spaces to reach the stairway up. When I finally do ascend those stairs, I have a feeling of trepadation (sp??)and unease, yet the knowledge that nothing will happen "to me" is there as well. Like I know there is something/one dangerous there, but it will not/cannot harm me. The stairwell opens up to the floor in the center - like the house is larger on top than on the other floors. I can go either right or left. Generally I tend to head toward my right side. Nothing ever comes from it, except just being there.

There have been times I've dreampt that others were with me in this house. But the number of people with me never pass two.

Last night this dream recurred, but this time it varied because at top of the stairwell exiting to the second floor, there was a chalkboard (the old fashioned kind, on legs) and a few desks. One desk in particular caught my attention as it was up front, by the board and was covered partially by a white sheet.

Guys, this is bugging me. Anyone know anything about dream analysis? Anything would be cool. Thanks.

Unusual dream. Eek Do you believe in reincarnation? It's always possible that something close to ur dream happened to you in a past life (or you lived in that house) and it's affecting you presently. There could always be some sort of message to it. Maybe in a past life, you left something of importance at this house and ur subconscious is trying to tell you about it. I don't really know. Just a theory.

abcdefg,

Thank you for sharing your dream. I have been discovering the hidden meanings in my dreams for about 8 years, now, using several different methods. Two very good sources of information on these methods are:

1. "The Dream Workbook", by Jill Morris.

2. "Inner Work", by Robert A. Johnson.

Our dreams always tell us the truth. Your dream looks like a "classic", with regard to Spiritual growth.

Typically, the inside of the house, symbolizes the inside of one's self. Also, other people inside the house, typically symbolize existential parts of one's own self. One can identify which part these other people are, by their behavior and speech.

Other levels in the house, which remain unseen, often indicate experiences and truths, not yet examined. Upper levels, specifically, often sybolize the levels of Spiritual ascention.

I felt excited when you said you could not reach the upper levels by way of the stairs. I couldn't either. Several of my dreams showed me that I had to squeeze my way up to the next level through a tight, long passageway, full of stiff rubble. Finding the truth within myself is not as easy as walking up the stairs. But it is so worth it.

This is only the way I see it, abcdefg. You are the expert on the meaning of your dreams. Wink
