Hello I'm new to this forum and feel I need some help with something that is concerning me greatly.

Less than a year ago my mother was found to have lung cancer which was already in the end stages, she had to be sedated for ten days to prolong her life while they found out if anything could be done. The conclusion wa reached that nothing could be done and she died as the doctors tried to bring her around from the sedation. I was always very close to my mum and i stayed at the hospital with her the entire time she was there even tho she was sedated i believed she knew i was there because she reacted when i told her certain things.

A few hours after she died i was at my girlfriends parents house and when talking about the my mother had been treated by her brother i became very angry. at this point the light turned off at the switch.

I have had recurring dreams four or five times a week since she died, and inbetween the recurring dream of me being there at her last breath, i dream aout her being alive and involved in the problems that i have in every day life. I have just had a dream about my mum. Yesterday I had some incredibly good news and obviously i would have loved to shared it with her but can't. Before i had gone to sleep i closed the door tight. In my dream i felt someone enter the room and stand over me. I could only half open my eyes and couldn't sit. At first i thought someone had broken in, but then i heard my mums voice. She sat down next to me on the bed and stroked my hair told me she was proud and loved me and that she had been waiting to hear the good news. I still couldn't open my eyes or speak or turn to see her fully, and i was really fighting to do all these things, but i could vivdly smell her favourite perfume and feel her hand on my head. this seemed to go on for around ten minutes while she talked to me about things we did before she died and then she said she had to go got up and left the room. I was then able to move and open my eyes i sat up in bed and my bedroom door was wide open. I was the only person in the house. I could still smell her perfume.

This is the fourth time i've had a dream about my mum where something that happened in the dream actually happened. Lights on after i've dreamt about it, Doors open, clothes on the end of my bed that kind of thing.

I feel as though i may be going a little bit mad, As i don't really believe in an afterlife.

If someone could help i'd appreciate it greatly. Sorry for such a long post.

Thanks.

It's hard to say where a particular persons' dreams come from, but it seems likely that you are just trying to work through some unresolved issues with your mother. It seems she died rather suddenly and maybe there are things she wishes she could have said to you, or vice versa, and your dreams are trying to help you sort through things.
As for things changing during your sleep, it is possible that you may sleepwalk. Do you share your bed with someone who could look out for this? If not, perhaps you could set up an audio or video recorder to capture what is really happening?

I wish you the best of luck in uncovering the meaning beneath these happenings, and you have my deepest sympathies on the loss of your mother. My mother is a breast cancer survivor and I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been to lose yours. My thoughts are with you as you sort through this.

Blessed be,
El
