I have been debating on whether to post this or not, it s a very difficult subject and will be hard for me to get through, but here goes. My dad died over a year ago, 2 weeks after his funeral I was having trouble sleeping, to this day I really dont know if I was asleep or not, and this is part of my question. I can still remember this as if it just happened last night, so clear and real, It started out like a dream, I was somewhere I was not familiar with, just walking, feeling lost, the next thing I know I see this huge building, I can only describe it as a castle, as I started walking towards the door, I had this feeling of almost terror, then the wind began to blow, I could feel it, the door opened and all I could see was a hand reaching out to me, there seemed to be a fog surrounding everything, I reached out to touch the hand and almost immediatley I was lifted up, I could feel my legs rising off the floor, the wind was blowing through my hair and I was in a totally horizontal position, supported by the hand that had come out the door. ok this is all I can manage to get out right now. Nothing like this has happened since, although I pray that it will again so I can make more sense out of it or maybe see who was behind the hand that held me there, Yes I know who it was, at least I like to think I Know. So I guess my question is, could this have been real, or was it just a dream, was I transported away for those few moments and was it my dad trying to tell me he was still there, and if so why havent I heard from him again? thanks for the help

Dear (((Renee))),

I feel helpless because i can't tell you what's real for you and what's not real. I did want to tell you that this is the most beautiful and poetic vision? i have ever heard.

Maybe i'm just feeling awe, right now, and cannot think of anything that might help. Perhaps other people will have something to share. Hope Georgia responds for you, too. I think she has a gift.

Thank you for sharing this with us, Renee. Smile

Renee, since you were having trouble sleeping, this seems like a nightmare to me. Nightmares seem so real. At the time that you're having one, it appears that you are awake because you are usually moving and talking. I don't believe there's any way that you could have been transported away.

I agree that it's a nice vision.

Well, its hard to call this a nightmare because I was never afraid. I guess I would like to think that it really happened and I do believe that you can be transported, although we may never really know. This was some kind of a message from my dad I am sure of that, and I will keep that belief as long as I live.

Sorry it took me so long to get to this thread Renee but I'm here now and willing to share my comments. Thanks, btw Dorie, for the beautiful insight. But I'm afraid I might lose credibility now...

First you asked if this was real. Well, unless you believe in astral projection I would say no, not real but a vivid dream. Now some people, especially worshippers of earth religions and new age relgions, swear up and down in astral projection. This is when your soul, essence, life force or whatever you care to call it temporarily leaves your physical body. But I am more into what can be proven scientifically so I do not attest to those believes.

I can offer my opinion on the dream tho. This occurred during a time of turmoil in your personal life. You had just buried your father and you were young and facing an uncertain future as a soon to be adult out on your own. But now you were out on your own alone...without the guidance of your dad.

Normally here is where I would ask what you were feeling, what was going on in your life, and what did the symbols in your dream represent to you. I'd let you draw your own conclusions. But you have given me some history now so I will offer this bit of insight. Is it possible the huge castle represents your future? It is unknown what waits for you behind the door. But apparently there were...or will be stormy times ahead. And when you faced/face these times you always had the guidance of some unseen force looking out for you and keeping you from being "blown away" by the force of ever upheaval.

It might make you feel good to think it was your dad reaching out to you from beyond. I'm more inclined to think of it as your mind telling itself that even with your father no-longer an active part in your life, that you will always be able to reach out for guidance from someone, whether family or friends. Someone will always be there to hold on to you when things get tough.

What do you think about that Renee?

I think that sounds great and thank you very much. Very interesting and it makes a lot of sense too. thanks again, now I know who to come to when I need some interpreting done, although I must say I really dont dream at all anymore, nothing that I remember that is.

Renee, I would very much agree with what Georgia said. From the original description that you gave, I immediately thought of astral projection. Dreams tend to fade as time goes on. The fact that you can remember your experience exactly seems more of an out of body experience to me than a dream. Going along with the advice Georgia has already given you, I would suggest writing down the entire vision as you remember it. Write down all the feelings you experienced at different points in the vision.
Now, treated it as a dream interpretation, break it down into parts. Analyze different sections. Pick out things that you saw and write down what each thing means to you. You might want to purchase a dream dictionary. If any of the definitions don't feel right, don't use them.
If any of this didn't make sense, just ask and i'll try to clarify.

Parts of your dream are the same as some visions which I have known for years now as part of my prophesying. The hand, reaching out on its side, can turn and appear to be a door. God is the door, and the hand is His. The horizontal line is the presence of Jesus. The wind is the presence of the Holy Spirit. What is interesting is that there does not seem to be the Word in the sense of language spoken. You heard no voice, because you felt terror. I can understand your wanting to repeat the dream: then you would be on the lookout for some message to be revealed to you. However, usually God, Jesus, angels manifest in new ways. Look for these manifestations, whether awake or asleep. One word to contemplate: fear is faith in reverse. In other words, exercise faith instead of fear, and you will have more such satisfying, spiritually gifted experiences.

Your welcome Renee....darn notification isn't working for me again!

Just as an fyi, I'm not "trained" in dream interpretation. I just happen to have what I would call a gift for it. But I will always be glad to offer an opinion to anyone who is interested Big Grin
