Does anyone here know anything about dream analysis? I keep having a recurring dream that a strange man is hiding in my home and I see him before he has a chance to attack me.
I usually forget my dreams shortly after waking up, so I wrote my dream down this morning ...
It takes place in my current home. I'm outside my guest room (which has a door that leads to an outdoor patio.) My dog is barking in the house and I'm trying to get in to get my dog but I'm locked out and forgot my key. Even though I know the door is locked, I turn the knob and to my surprise, it opens. I step inside the room and notice that my closet door is open about 4 inches. I get a strange feeling and go back outside shutting the door. I peek in through the window and see a blonde haired man peeking out of the closet and our eyes meet through the window. I scream then wake myself up.
All the dreams are similar to this ... what couuld this mean?

Dream analysis isn't that difficult and anyone can learn to do it. Since dreams can mean different things to different people, the person who has the dream is the best analyzer. The first thing you do is determine what the theme is to your dream. In your case the theme could be either an invasion in your home or a need to rescue your animal. Once you have figured out what the main theme is, then you match the theme to a concept or specific area of your life. If you have found the correct theme of the dream it will usually be very clear how it relates to your life. It is important to realize that dreams are usually not prophetic. Instead they serve the purpose of relaying a message to you about your life. Once you know what it is you can focus on changing the way you react or look at things.
I know this did not answer your question but I hope it gave you something to think about. I learned a lot about dream analysis in my Psychology courses. Feel free to e-mail me if I can offer you further help

Thanks GA, that did help. The real common part of the dream is the "strange man who is laying in wait to attack me." The dog is not usually in the dream, sometimes its just me coming into a room to find a man hiding who is waiting to attack me.
I'll ponder your suggestion and see what I can come up with. It's kind of starting to scare me a little bit, so I'd like to get to the bottom of it.

O.G. please don't let a dream scare you. Remember they are not prophetic. Since you said the common part of the dream is a man lying in wait to attack you that might suggest there is some unfinished task that you have forgotten about that might end up "kicking you in the rear" if its left incomplete. Maybe you have forgotten to pay a bill, or maybe you have some unresolved issues with a friend or family member. Just think of any scenario in your life and when you reach the "a ha!" factor you will be able to solve the problem. Once you have, the dreams should change.

Today, I got an e-mail from my faculty adviser on this HUGE HUGE project that I need to get working on. The due date is pushed up and I need to light a fire under my butt to get it done.
I forgot about the stupid project! Maybe it's "the strange man" that's been waiting to attack!
Hope so! Anyway, I'll be signing off AP for a few weeks while I work on it! Thanks for your help with the mystery!
Ciao my friend!

Just to add to what Georgia already said, How did you feel during this dream? The feelings you experience during a dream can also help to interpret it. Are you certain he wants to attack you? Can you make out any sort of expression the man's face? Does anyone in your waking life resemble this man? Are there any other significant factors to the dream? (i.e. certain objects on a table, or something.) Sometimes, there are things around in the dream that can help you to realize it's meaning.
