Hello everyone, I have never been in a discussion group before but last night I had the weirdest dream and my fiance had the same one. I had a dream I was at a music festival and met a guy there that I felt an immediate and deep attraction to. In my dream I planned on leaving my fiance for this new guy. When I woke up I felt very weird because the dream was so intense. I could not stop thinking about it all day. Then my fiance came home at lunch and first thing he said to me was, "I had the worst dream last night". He proceeded to tell me the exact same dream I had had. And he NEVER remembers dreams. I could not believe it when he told me this. I told him I had had the exact same dream. I am still reeling from the intensity of this whole situation. We are attending a festival in a few weeks. What does this all mean. Also we are suppose to be getting married in September. Am I just getting jitters or does mutual dreaming really mean more? We have not been talking about the festival as we have had the tickets for a number of months now and it is a festival we attend every year. Please let me know your thoughts.

I think it's likely you are having typical pre-wedding jitters. It's possible you are both seeing some sort of future event, but the more likely explanation is stress or worry weaving its way into your dreams.
I would say you should just put the dream aside and not worry about it (unless it starts happening regularly), but definitely go to the music festival and see what happens there.

I would add...

And when you go to the festival, don't go LOOKING for an attractive man to become infatuated with just because you dreamed this might happen.

If you are planning a wedding, you obviously feel like you've found your one and only. Just because you've had a dream doesn't mean that you are destined to find another.

Also, if your fiance' had the exact same dream, maybe he's worried...in which case, I would guess his similar dream was more like a nightmare, one in which he loses you. I have to wonder if you talked in your sleep during your dream, and he was just awake enough to pick up on it and dream the same thing.

Dreams are odd things...but they are mostly our brains, just having a bit of recreation. Most of my dreams are absolutely outrageous, very odd (luckily hardly ever nightmares), and I always KNOW I'm dreaming...our subconcious likes to play with us I think.

Excellent points, Giz.

Just as there is more than one way to skin a cat, there is more than one way for the angels of a cohabitating, unmarried couple to get their lap-slapping laughs over tormenting the to-be-married couple while they sleep. Eek

Curious dreams are a punishment meted out for living in what some people consider "sin"? Well, that's certainly an interesting way of looking at it. Why, then, do married couples continue to have odd dreams? You would think the "angels" would leave them be once they are married in the eyes of your god.

Elexina: I mentioned nothing about god (or God) or about "sin" (or sin). I didn't even mention anything about punishment, only about angels having fun. Lighten up!
