What's the current status of the upcoming tax rebate? How much will I get back? I filed head of household with 2 dependent children this year and received over $4000 refund.

First I heard the rebate was $600, plus an additional $600 for each child. Now someone is telling me those amounts have been reduced to $300. What's the truth?

USA Today says:

$1200.00 Married filing jointly
$600.00 filing single
$300.00 per dependent child under 17.
