HI I an new here and have a strange question. I was wondering if someone might know the answer to this.

If you do get married can you still be claimed by a parent? Or can you file seperately? The follow up question is if you are still claimed by a parent will they find out that you are married. Obviously trying to keep this a secret. Any help would be appeciated it.

Only one person may claim you on their taxes. If you are a married woman, for instance, either your husband OR your parent may claim you--not both. They will likely get a notification from the IRS for an audit if they detect that one person is being claimed twice (they check SSNs) and that will probably be much worse than you just telling them you're married.
