I am trying to help my grandmother find informaiton concerning whether or not one person can own land and deed it to another person yet still receive the income generated off the land. She and my grandfather run a farming operation and are looking into deeding their land to their children, but need to know how to go about doing everything so they can still bring in income of their own. Any links or information would be greatly appreciated.

There are several ways to accomplish what you want to do. The obvious way would be to deed the property to a new owner and then the new owner lease the whatever rights they wanted back to the original owner.

But remember Real Estate Laws vary dramatically from State to State, and they are often hypertechnical. You really need to consult a Real Estate attorney to draft and record the correct documents. I wouldn't trust a web site, or on line advice - even mine!
