How has it come to be that Delaware is a corporate tax haven ? Was this some historical accident or was it a policy ? How does it work for foreign businesses setting up a company there? Are they restricted e.g not allowed to trade in Delaware?

Just what I needed, thanks. Now there's the small question of having a big enough business. Smile

Welcome to Answerpool, Sleuth. I reckon that you may be exactly the person we've been needing (see above) Big Grin

Speaking of corporate tax havens, have you ever been to Belize? (I think it's a UK protectorate or commonwealth.)

The biggest tax haven in America might surprise you, it is also our most valuable and vital asset:

children

The latest lie in politics is Sen Kary's "roll-back-Bush-tax-cuts" song and dance. The truth is that the most recent changes will expire in 2006 with or without his help, and when they do, poor people with children will be hurt the most.

I can't count how many poor military families I've sent away smiling because I just gave them a refund bigger than their reenlistment bonus! The story is always the same:

child tax credit

plus

additional child tax credit

plus

earned income credit

plus

child care credit

plus

1 exemption per child

***

Some of these are credits that no rich person will ever see or care about, and the rest are too small to matter to anyone but the 80K and under folks.
