When 15 year-olds work during the summer, are taxes deducted from their checks? Some of these kids are working at schools, and in the parks, and it just seem like they wouldn't have to pay taxes with little jobs like that.

They can take more exemptions if they want to avoid taxes that will definitely be returned in a refund (it's what I do, so the IRS doesn't get to "use" my money). I get a negligible refund because I claim enough so I only pay the taxes I truly owe.
