Could anyone tell me in which Star Trek episode the immortal phrase "beam me up Scotty" was said for the first time. A source would be nice and any other details about the episode would be of help.
Thanks,
Roog

Urban legend...was never said. Sorta in the league of "Play it again, Sam."

Roogalator, here is the source you asked for. Well partly what you asked for as it confirms the urban legend rather than the episode "Beam me up Scotty" was first said!

According to the above site, it was heard in Star Trek: The Animated Series.

"Ironically, Kirk never says the line on Star Trek (although he comes close in Star Trek IV, saying "Scotty, beam me up."). The origin of the phrase comes from a bumper sticker with the tag line "Beam me up Scotty. There's no intelligent life here". The phrase is, however, delivered in Star Trek: The Animated Series."
