This site has a test that was televised last night. It's about language. There are 70 questions, some just silly. Anyhow, I got 58 out of 70. The group of Ad-writers got the best score of those who took the test on television.

Considering I don't have audio and I'm not Canadian, I think I did pretty well.

51 - I made a couple dumb slip-ups such that I think my score should have been about 3 higher if I wasn't a clutz. I didn't do well on the Canadian questions and the questions related to Native American words.

55. I really fell down on word origins -- it's tough when you've never seen the word before! Too bad I'm not Canadian, eh?

That's what I got, Prof. By the way, don't feel bad about the word origins. The test made either an error or an assumption on one of the question in that section.

Ami, I don't think the sound helped on those questions. I think it was just there to make the test look better.

Word origins did me in, too. They seemed 'quirky' somehow. Oh, well the student always blames the 'bad question'. I guess I just think too conventionally.

I am disappointed that they don't give you the answers after upon completion. A good test should always be educational in its own right.

I'd ask for some of the answers here, but I don't want to spoil it for those who still plan to try the test.

I knew I'd embarrass myself. I'm ashamed that as a former Canuck, I scored a 46, partly due to 5/12 Canadian things scored. I found that the short time limit never allowed me time enough "after" realizing I just picked a stupid answer. Wasn't any prize, anyhow!

I only scored a 46 as well Frank...although in the final tally I looked to do better than I thought I would in the categories I knew NOTHING about...such as Canada! It was fun Smile
