Since there are so many new people here maybe everyone hasn't seen this post. I've been looking for this movie.

It aired on tv in 1951. A man was at the park and saw 2 suitcases. ( I think one had money in it or something)The one he picked up he brought home. Inside the suitcase was a head. He put the head on the fireplace mantel. It gave him orders like "bring me a glass of water". This went on for some time. When the head fell asleep the man grabbed the head and shoved the head back into the suitcase. He took the suitcase back to the park. Some other guy saw the suitcase.. picked it up thinking it was money.. and the movie ended.
(WB made a cartoon spoof of One Froggy Night that I think was inspired by this picture)

It could be a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie.
It could be from Lights Out.
It is NOT The thing that wouldn't Die!
I have been given so many websites and have emailed many sites too.

I want to thank everyone who responded to my last post. Thank you for taking the time to ask friends and family and look up sites.
Maybe someone else remembers this one. I promise this will be the last time I ask. Thank You all again.

The cartoon was "One Froggy Evening," made by Warner Brothers in 1955. So far, that's all the help I can be. Many people will remember this one as having the frog singing "The Michegan Rag." ("Helo my baby, hello my honey, hello my rag-time gal...")

I'm wondering if it could be an Outer Limits episode from the original series.

This very question was posted at Sister Cinema in June. The wording is sufficiently close that my guess is others have been working on your question, or vice versa! Unfortunately, the page appears to now be obselete (it was cached by Google here. I wonder if any of the followups resulted in a proper answer?).

Just on the trail, clarebear. Thought I'd share what I have.

If the cartoon was, in fact, a spoof of the movie in question, then that lets out Outer Limits, which started in the 60s and TwightLight Zone, which, while earlier that Limits, was still after the cartoon. It really doesn't sound like something Hallmark would do. It does, however, sound like something out of Suspense or something like that.

I'm not so sure the cartoon was based on this movie. It was based on Old Rip, but I supposed it could be based on both.

clarebear:

I looked some today, also - couldn't find anything more than what everyone else has. I think it might be a lost cause after such a long time, and such a diligent search by everyone.

I guess some things just aren't meant to be...unless methos link is what you were looking for.

I have posted this query on another Forum to see if more Minds can solve this and, the "One Foggy Evening" link was Posted as an answer
I noticed in the Link that there was a Movie connection link on that IMDB page I clicked on it hoping to find where in the chain it came but it only goes forward in time!! Doesn't help the cause Mad
If it had gone backwards, this query would have been history by now Mad

I don't know if this is any help, but I was thinking: If the cartoon was titled One Froggy Night, they might have tried to keep the title as close as possible to the original too. I searched on IMDB and found a Suspense from 1951 titled The Foggy Night Visitor. Unfortunately there isn't any synopsis. It only says it starred Leslie Nielsen and Cloris Leachman.
