Hi all
I'm using Hyperchem to calculate the charges on the atom C and O of CO, it turned out that Carbon has positive charge and Oxygen negative, but this is contrary to experimental result, could someone help explain it? Thanks

Do the charges denote their respective ionic states, perhaps?

Keeping in mind that oxygen comes in the Halogen category and the carbon atom is closer to the Metals side...

Calc, charge n experiment!
