What is the difference between positive and negative bouyancy?

when you submerge an object in water, it will displace an amount of water with the same volume as it has. If the displaced water weighs less than the object, the object will sink. This is negative buoyancy. If the water weight more than the object, the object will be pushed upwards. This is positive buoyancy.
