According to this story, in a few days, the Environmental Protection Agency will rule that carbon dioxide is no longer an air pollutant. Therefore dropping the regulations on emissions.

So what are your thoughts here...are we looking at increased air pollution & more green house gasses??? Or since plants need carbon dioxide are we actually helping the environment???

as far as scientists can tell, the amount of carbon dioxide we spew into the air really isnt as bad as some fanatical environmentalists want us to believe.

i still think its an air pollutant, anyone who dosent think so should go suck on a car exhaust pipe and then tell me otherwise.

this is a very stupid move.
really, dont look at it as a global warming thing, look at it as an asthma causing, being unable to see the sky in a major city, having that gross brown tinge to the atmosphere from a city thing.

bet the suv manufacturers are sending a big fat cheque to the government after this.

lynda - I don't think any of the effects you mention (except global warming) are caused by carbon dioxide. They are all caused by other pollutants in car exhaust, e.g. carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, suspended particles, benzene, formaldehyde, polycyclic hydrocarbons. While I don't think that the global warming picture is as bleak as some paint it, I don't think that carbon dioxide emission regulations should be discarded (perhaps reformed, but not discarded).
