curious??? not sure if in topic area to ask this? while emptying out dehumidifier,I was always lead to believe that the water from it was considered to be distilled water. If this is true where or what happens to what ever is removed go.All that I'm awhere of is whats left in the filter which I thought was mainly to keep compressor from getting to hot.Wow already getting to deep for me, is there simple answer(IF TRUE)to this, without formula,s etc. On most days I'd probably say who cares, today curious. Reminds me of an old shelly berman joke record where he has skit, that states," this is a glass of water but why??? is it a glass of water. curious!
Well, yes. It is distilled water in the sense that it takes moisture out of the air by condensing water vapor into liquid water and leaves the dissolved impurities behind. But the fact that the water was in the gaseous or vapor state already, means that it had done that before it was condensed into a liquid. The filter traps any airborne impurities, particles that are floating around in the air and were not dissolved in the water.
